Blue tanzanite

Tanzanite is a very rare gemstone known for its striking blue to violet colour. It is a variety of the mineral zoisite and is found only in the Merelani Hills in northern Tanzania, close to Mount Kilimanjaro. The gem was first discovered in 1967.

Thanks to its rarity, beautiful colour variations and single source, tanzanite is one of the most sought-after gemstones in the world. It is often associated with spiritual enlightenment and is said to strengthen intuition and insight.
