Blue aquamarine
Together with emerald and morganite, among others, aquamarine belongs to the beryl family. Its name is derived from the Latin word for seawater. As the name suggests, its colour ranges from greenish blue to light blue-green. The clarity of aquamarine is simply breathtaking.
Most stones are a very light blue, while only a small percentage shows an intense blue colour. This gemstone symbolises trust and friendship.
The Santa Maria aquamarine is the most outstanding of all aquamarines. Its very specific, vivid and intense blue has a deeply saturated hint of green and is downright beautiful.
Aquamarine is beloved among royals. Queen Elizabeth owned an impressive collection of aquamarine jewellery, and Meghan Markle now wears a beautiful aquamarine cocktail ring that previously belonged to the late Princess Diana.
